End of August

We discovered that Jasper can sit by himself though he gets a
little wobbly sometimes. Go Tigers!
One of the latest faces and the sound...Ooooo.
Jasper in the bumbo seat
Last week we visited Karen & Kate and I returned the beloved swing since she'll need it in a few weeks and we hadn't used it in a few months. I put Jasper in it and turned it on full blast and it hardly moved. ha! Below are pictures of Jasper in the swing at 2 weeks and at 5 months.

Not much to report here - we are doing great. Still no teeth and still haven't started on solids yet but I think we're getting close. Jasper really wants to crawl and he scoots himself all over the floor.

I started teaching last Thurs and am very excited about the class. Only 8 students which is awesome! The title of the class is Modeling in Algebra and Darrell likes to tell folks that I'm teaching modeling. hee hee, yeah right! The class is about hands-on activities (concrete models, if you will) to introduce algebraic concepts.

Today I went to campus and got a faculty parking pass and faculty ID and some other things for the math class. Really, the main thing that happened today was that I was watching Martha Stewart during the 10 am feeding and the actor Greg Grunberg was baking chocolate chip cookies with Martha. Greg played Weiss on Alias, which I am a HUGE fan of that show. Anyway, 11Alive interrupted with breaking news to show footage of Michael Vick walking into the Virginia courthouse. What a bummer to interrupt Martha & Greg baking cookies.

And one more picture....this has become part of the bedtime routine. In the early evening while I fix dinner, we put in the Praise Baby DVD and put Jasper in his bouncy seat (still a favorite). Praise Baby is like baby einstein except with praise music. We expect this DVD to make our child a better Christian. If it doesn't, then we are going to sue just like the latest outraged parents who thought baby einstein would make their kids smarter. Ha ha! And please, no rabbit ears comments. We like the channels 2, 5, 8, 11, 17. For free.

I think Jasper gets cuter every time I see him. Hope your job's going well. And I love the rabbit ears. No need to be embarrased....you're getting TV for FREE!

We had bunny ears for a while here, along with an arch of aluminum foil. Ha ha! We don't have them anymore, but can we still be cool?

Of course the Riddles are still super cool even if they have real TV. They gave us the Praise Baby DVD!
