Earth Day 2008

Happy Earth Day!
Jasper says, "This global warming stuff is serious business."

I remember Earth Day 1990 when I was in 7th grade. Everyone at school decided not to use their aerosol hair spray in order to save the ozone layer for the day. Everyone's hair looked horrible, especially mine since no one could fix their bangs without half a can of hairspray. Fortunately, we have come a long way (can you even buy aerosol hair spray anymore?) but our planet is still in dire need of good stewards of its resources! Fortunately, going green is 'cool' these days...so let's all jump on the bandwagon and be trendy by going green.

In honor of Earth Day, here are some things you can do:

How You Can Take Action to Reduce Global Warming

Going Green Checklist
Print it out, put it on your fridge, and work on checking off all the items this year!

Recycle! Yes it takes time and is not easy but it is crucial that you get off your bottom and do it. There's not enough room for everything to go to a landfill.

25 Eco Chic Ideas for Your Home
Here are some great, fun, decorative ideas for reusing items.

Buy re-usable grocery bags and keep them in your car. I bought mine at J&J Foods for 99 cents each and I have seen them at several grocery stores. You can even submit a design for a bag on Kroger's website.

In other news...We spent a day last week with Jennifer & Daniel at Smithgall Woods State Park (our perfect halfway meeting point). It was a gorgeous day!
