Jasper & I traveled to Arizona for my sister's graduation from Arizona State Univ. On Wednesday we flew to Arizona and enjoyed the day in Tempe at Christy & Matthew's house. Thurs morning was graduation for Dr. Christine Shropshire, then we relaxed by their pool in the afternoon before the big fiesta that night complete with mexican food, margarita machine, classical guitarist - a nice touch, pinata, and all their friends and family! A great celebration! Also, they sold their house on Wednesday which was a pleasant surprise! On Fri we drove up to the Grand Canyon. However on Fri night Jasper was inconsolable and after much thought, Christy and I drove Jasper back to Tempe in the middle of the night. We took him to a quick care place the next day to find out he had an ear infection. It was very rough. The poor guy felt terrible. Along with the ear infection, he has a nasty cold, is drooling terribly (molars?), and crawled off the bed late Fri afternoon at our cabin at the Canyon and scraped his nose. Also, the three hour time difference was challenging. I'll just say the first half of the trip was great; the second half not so great. Jasper & I flew home Sunday morning and we very happy to see Daddy at the gate! I really should have gotten a picture of me wearing the car seat like a backpack, my backpack on my front, and pushing Jasper in a little stroller. Fortunately I only had to do that in the Phoenix airport on the way home. The other times I had much needed help! Anyway, we are glad to be home and Jasper is on the mend. Still not sure of what time zone he is in but we are getting there. Darrell's parents kept him last night so I could sleep. Finally getting sleep along with the sweet mother's day blog posting from Darrell is getting me through the past few days!
