No snow here!

While places south of us got 6-8 inches, we did not get any snow on Sunday. It was pretty while it snowed for about an hour, but nothing stuck. In a way I was kind of glad because then it wasn't iffy whether or not we would have the First Monday Cafe this past Monday. Which went well by the way! Overall, we have had six cafes (Oct-Mar) and raised over $1900 for hunger needs in the community. I've gotten to know a lot of different people through starting this cafe and I really enjoy it. I plan on having a cafe in Apr and one in May, then break until October. By then I'll have two kids and am unsure how I can coordinate and run it all so I am praying for others who want to coordinate the cafe. So far, I have one lady who is interested and hope to find others willing to step up, too!

Pregnancy update: I am feeling really good and cannot believe I am 29 weeks already. It hit me last week that I am tired. Guess that is 3rd trimester. The baby moves a lot and keeps me up at night sometimes. Others (like people at church or at the cafe yesterday) are starting to realize that I'm expecting since I do have a little baby bump now! It is getting to be a big bump to me but I guess covered up it is not as noticeable. With Jasper's pregnancy I took a picture every week starting at 27 weeks. This time I have been meaning to but I keep forgetting! I did remember last week so below is a picture of me at 28 weeks.
And below is me pregnant with Jasper at 28 weeks. Pretty much the same I think! Because I was so sick through week 26 the first time around, I thought I would be bigger this time but I guess I am showing about the same amount.
Jasper is doing great - we were fighting colds last week but are both much better now. He is still doing well in his big boy bed - he waits for us to get him 'up' and doesn't get out. The bookshelf in his room is very tempting but he has done so great. Only got out once or twice. I guess that was all it took for him to learn the rules! We also said bye-bye to the paci's about 2-3 weeks ago. He has slept with his paci since the beginning and LOVES it. He is such a great sleeper too. But I just decided with baby #2 on the way, it is the right thing for us to have certain things be baby things, like crib, paci, and hopefully diapers(?). Anyway, I realized he was not going to willingly give it up on his own so he traded it for some little fire trucks and it has been fine, overall. I think he would have held onto the paci for a long time but he has given it up just fine, too.

Below is a picture of him in his big boy underwear from this afternoon...
We worked today on potty training and he did great. He peed in the potty NINE times with no accidents! I am so proud of him. I've been meaning to work on potty training for a while cause he is so interested and has peed and pooped on the potty occasionally since last summer. I always meant to just stay home for 2-3 days and do it. I realized in January that I like my routine of going places almost every morning so I would have to really make an effort to stay home!

I stayed home one morning last week and worked on it. He peed twice in the potty and then had 2 accidents. I let him wear big boy underwear which he LOVED (too funny!). Maybe a little too early for the underwear but he was way excited about it. He told us "daddy potty" maybe 2-3 times this weekend and he pooped in the potty those times which was way exciting.

I stayed home all day today to focus on the potty (and I enjoyed being in my pajamas all day!) I kept a cloth diaper on him without a cover so he could feel himself and say 'dry'. I asked him if he was dry every 15 minutes or so then I just put him on the potty every hour and he would immediately pee. He wanted a disposable diaper on at one point and he pooped in it at lunchtime though he told me as he was going. So......just need to work on him telling me BEFORE he has to go! Obviously that is what being potty trained is and he is not there yet at all but I think he is definitely getting the idea. He loves big boy underwear too so maybe that will be a big motivator. I only have 3 pair of Cars underwear but he can't see the cars on his bottom. He leans over and tries to look between his legs on his bottom. He had me pick him up and hold him in the bathroom mirror so he could see the Cars on the back of his underwear! too cute! We'll keep him in diapers for naps & night and I'm not sure what I'll do tomorrow. We'll be out and about all morning, hmmm...probably just use diapers but try to take him to the potty occasionally? We'll see. Anyway, there are our updates! Jasper turns 2 next Monday!
