Happy Easter

Happy Easter!
We are doing well, getting ready for baby #2. Five weeks to go, whew! Last week was Darrell's spring break. Monday was the cafe which went really well and Darrell got to see it in action! During the week, I got my hair cut, went to the eye doctor, blah blah, all those typical spring break things :) Darrell started working on finishing a room and a bathroom in the basement. Jasper & I went to Greenville then Gainesville to get out of the way for 2.5 days so he could hammer away. Although he informed me he didn't hammer at all in the framing. He used a nail gun.
Refering to the easter outfit:
Me:"what does the dragon do?"
Jasper: "breathes fire."
Me: "What's on top of the castle?"
Jasper: "A flag."
Me: "What is the prince holding?"
Jasper: "a baseball bat."

Over Darrell's spring break, Jasper & I had a great trip to Greenville to visit my college friends. He loved playing with Walker and since Walker's daddy owns a construction business, their back yard is a little boy's dream.
They did SO great playing together - like, actually somewhat playing together. It was fun to listen to and watch. They were jumping on the bed then they got under the covers. Walker pulled the covers off and Jasper said 'wake up' and then they got up and jumped again. They were laughing and carrying on. We're not sure what else they got into but they did great playing unattended :)
Jasper on the 'roller coaster'
We met baby Marah in Hiawassee last week. It looks like she is smiling in the pic with Darrell!
Cleaned up for church!
We have had some fun weekend outings with my family. We went to the Atlanta Zoo on April 4 which was Jasper's first time at the zoo. Jasper loved running around and enjoyed the petting zoo part the most. Here he is feeding the sheep.
An easter egg with the moms club on april 3rd - Jasper's first egg hunt, it didn't take him long at all to catch on. This was on a windy, cold, muddy day hence the nonmatching old play clothes. Many of these eggs had stickers or toys like bouncy balls so he really liked that.
Jasper played a not so funny april fools joke and started having pee accidents for 2 days. Talk about frustrating!! And Darrell didn't get home until 10:30 those 2 nights. I almost gave up I was so at the end of my rope! But after a weekend at my parents after the zoo trip (a break for me, too), he is doing great again, thankfully. He naps in big boy underwear and wakes up dry in the morning though we've still been putting a diaper on him at night. I realized I stopped giving him stickers and had switched to just a potty seat on the big potty. Maybe he didn't like those things? We're back onto stickers and have the little potty out as an option, too. Another motivator is now peeing while standing up - he loves doing that.

Playing at the water table
A favorite, of course - the tractor!
Also, I forgot to mention in the last post that Darrell's student WON (actually tied) at the region competition and is going to the state competition on Apr 22. There are only 12 regions so with some ties, there will probably be 16-18 kids competiting for state STAR student. Now there is a nice cash award for the student & teacher at the state level...that would be awesome but it will be tough competition so no real high expectations - just another good dinner.

now the fairy tale makes much more sense. the prince was actually a baseball player...not a dragon slayer.

I think it's so cool that Rell is finishing off the basement with a room and a bathroom. Go 'Rell go! Joni, as always,...you look amazing! I can't wait to see this little one of yours!
