We came home from the hospital this morning (Saturday) about 10:00 after a two day stay. Baxter has done great feeding, sleeping, and all the other things newborns are supposed to be good at. He looks remarkably like his older brother did after he was born. They are most certainly brothers.
Below is Jasper's first meeting with Baxter. This picture nearly captures the entirety of Jasper's interest. He was off inspecting the nearby hospital bed moments afterwards. He has since taken a much bigger interest in Baxter now that we're all home. I look forward to the dynamics of their relationship almost more than anything else ahead.
Baxter was born just nine hours after I finished my school duties for the year. I have the next two months off to raise these guys "two-on-two" and feel like I've got the greatest summer ever in front of me. We have swimming lessons, family get-togethers, camping trips, beach vacations, and all other manner of day-to-day activities on our "clipboard of fun." Stay tuned...
