What happens when...

What happens when...
You ignore your garden for weeks?
You get some good stuff...
and some absurdly HUGE zucchini - the size of a 3 week old baby!Seriously??!! The biggest zucchini is 15 inches long and 5 inches wide. The circumference at the widest part is 14 inches??!! Does zucchini this big even taste good? We haven't tried it yet. I shredded the rest of the large zucchinis and froze them in ziplocs for zucchini bread. Any other ideas for what to do with lots of zucchini? We just got back from 5 days at the beach and I haven't even been out to the garden to see what else is out there. Before we left I realized the cucumbers and zucchinis are enormous! The cucumbers are good and there are lots of green tomatoes. Hopefully they are still there - if I can find them amongst the weeds, ahh.

What happens when...
You don't water your grass and it is 100° every day?
Your newly cleared side yard still hasn't been graded or seeded for grass?
Your house is an absolute disaster area because the basement is getting 'finished?'

I won't include pictures for the above scenarios! I can hardly stand to look at it myself :) Onto some more funny and positive pics--

What happens when...
you husband and his buddy are in charge of their infants?
You get an "anne geddes" for guys type picture...
It's Baxter on a bookshelf at Kai & Lisa's house - at Kai's "31 is the new 30" Birthday Party.
You also get wide-eyed infants wondering why they are getting beat on the back for so long...Oh, it's a burping competition, of course! Baxter & Marah wondering why their daddies are so into infant-only competitions.
What happens when...
Your husband is in charge of taking Jasper to swim lessons?
You get really cute pictures like this...
I am so incredibly thankful for Darrell's help this summer. He is a great Daddy to our two-year-old whiner and our one-month-old crier. Yes, Jasper's favorite thing to say is "I don't want to." And Baxter's favorite thing to say is "whaaaaaaa."
Here is Baxter, doing the tree frog position. He is a month old and is pretty fussy, gassy, cries a lot, doesn't really like to be swaddled or take a pacifier, doesn't like the bouncy seat or the swing, just wants to be held...I'm holding out hope that things will get better this month. If I don't blog again for a month you'll just know that the exhaustion hasn't gotten better yet! But he is oh so cute when he is sleeping :)

Joni,
I understand, all too well, the overwhelmed feeling! I sometimes wonder what it was like when my house used to be clean and tidy all the time. There just never seem to be enough hours in the day without someone needing you. I told Jason, just this week, that sometimes I feel like a piece of bread with "birds" on all sides taking chunk after chunk until I am left with a VERY small me! Oh my, that sounded depressing...
It truly isn't THAT bad, but that is my best analogy for what I feel like right now. All that to say, I'm right there with ya girl...I completely understand.
Jasper is looking SO grown up!

Hey Joni - I am SO jealous of your garden - we don't really have room for a garden - so I am growing tomatoes in three pots - they are about 1/3 the size they should be - but tasty none-the-less! I think you should send zucchini care-packages to your blogger friends! HAHA
